Journalist Baton Haxhiu has commented on the refusal of the American Secretary of State to meet representatives from the opposition.
In an interview for "Euronews Albania", he said that Blinken's brutal rejection of the opposition by not meeting any of their representatives, is a serious political experience.
According to Haxhiu, this is a message that the US wanted to give to the opposition in Albania that it is guilty of the regime, as Berisha calls it, with its own actions and inactions.
"It is a great pain, a heavy political experience. The secretary of state really refuses, not aesthetically, not even with nuances, but brutally sending a message that the culprits of why this type of regime, as Berisha says, is such, that they have boycotted the local elections and burned the mandates. And if they believe that democracy is preserved on these parameters, no. There are also other powers. And what has been missing in this visit and is worrying is that the issue of the media has not been opened. The problem of democracy in Albania is the opposition and the media" , said Haxhiu.
