The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, reacted after the General Director of Prisons, Admir Abrija, resigned from his post.
Manja told the media that Admir Abrija will take on other duties.
"Yes, it is true that the director of prisons voluntarily resigned and will take on other duties. As a minister, I thank him very much for the contribution he has made.
The deputy general director has taken his attributes. As soon as we have a name, we will make it known to the public", he said.
The General Director of Prisons, Admir Abrija, resigned on Wednesday, February 14, citing personal reasons according to the Ministry of Justice.
Admir Abrija was appointed head of the Directorate of Prisons by the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja on December 20, 2021 and replaced Agim Ismail in this position. Abrija has previously served in the Guard of the Republic and the State Police in various positions.
