Thanks to the great tourist potential of our country, Albania is not only visited during the summer by foreigners, but throughout the year.
Attractions are already rivers for rafting, mountains for hiking or even historical cities. But it has been observed that the generosity of nature has not been accompanied by care by various institutions to instruct tourists to take care of their lives, especially those who practice sports. From the data obtained by the state police, it was observed that during this year 9 foreigners who came to our country for tourism lost their lives.
The most recent case was recorded on June 8, where a 55-year-old Polish woman died in Durrës after accidentally falling from a hotel balcony.
The most serious case of loss of life of tourists was recorded on May 9 in Valbona. Two girls, a Belgian and a French woman, walking from Thethi to Valbona without a guide, fell into the abyss and lost their lives.
A German tourist lost his life in the same place and under the same circumstances a year ago.
The rivers have also taken on the life of tourists. A Dutch tourist drowned in the Osum Canyons on May 11, while a 66-year-old German woman drowned in the Langarica Canyons on March 31, while her husband was able to escape.
Unfortunately, we also have lost lives from road accidents.
On May 9, the vehicle carrying a couple of German tourists collided with a trailer-type vehicle driven by a Serb. As a result, the woman lost her life while the man who was a passenger in the vehicle was injured./TCH
