The reasons why the head of the Department of Epidemiology at ISHP, Silva Bino, was called to SPAK are revealed. On June 6, she went up the steps of the prosecutor's office, where she was interrogated for several hours, but refused to tell the reasons.
According to the information, SPAK has started investigations on a tender that the Institute of Public Health has developed regarding disinfection for mosquitoes. It is about a tender worth 1 million euros, a tender which was awarded to a company in a clientelistic manner.
It is learned that the tender was held in 2019. At that time, PIH was responsible for such tenders and since then there have been no more disinfections. But it is known that in addition to Bino, 4 former officials of ISHP were called to SPAK, who were involved with the tender in question.
The investigation for this tender started after the report of one of the bidding companies at that time disqualified from the competition. According to the sources, the suspicions are that the members of the bid evaluation committee for this procurement procedure have favored the winning company by qualifying it without meeting the established criteria.
Since 2019, no tender for disinfection has been made. PIH has transferred it to the Agency of Concentrated Purchases, but the institutions have conflicts regarding the criteria.
