Director of Prisons Klevis Qose at the ICPA Annual Conference in Singapore, meets with senior representatives

The Director General of Prisons, Klevis Qose, participated today in the ICPA 2024 Annual Conference, which is being held in Singapore.

Organized by the Singapore Prison Service, the conference will take place from 1 to 6 September 2024, bringing together CEOs, professionals and experts from around the world to discuss the theme of "Enabling Resilience: Beyond Recidivism".

Meanwhile, Qose has held meetings with two of ICPA's top representatives, President Peter Severin and Executive Director Natalie Boal, as well as his counterpart in Singapore, Shie Yong Lee.

The General Directorate of Prisons informs that during these discussions, Albania has been invited to apply to become a member of the International Prison Association (ICPA). This will further strengthen Albania's role in the international community in the prison system and will help to exchange experiences and best practices with other member countries.

The General Director of Prisons, Klevis Qose, has appreciated the key role of ICPA in promoting new and effective approaches to justice, while emphasizing the importance of international cooperation for achieving common goals.

During this important conference, Mr. Qose has held meetings with two of the highest representatives of ICPA, the President Mr. Peter Severin and Executive Director Ms. Natalie Boal as well as his counterpart in Singapore, Ms. Shie Yong Lee. These meetings have served to deepen cooperation between institutions and to exchange important experiences on practices and innovations in the field of the penitentiary system.

During these discussions, Albania was invited to apply to become a member of the International Prison Association (ICPA).

This step will further strengthen Albania's role in the international community in the prison system and will help to exchange experiences and best practices with other member countries.

Meetings with Mr. Peter Severin and Mrs. Natalie Boal have been an excellent opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with recidivism, as well as to explore new avenues for improving correctional systems. Mr. Qose appreciated the key role of ICPA in promoting new and effective approaches in justice and emphasized the importance of international cooperation for achieving common goals.
