The new school year has officially begun across the country today, September 8. After the summer holidays that lasted about three months, thousands of students have returned to school today, to continue their journey in education and knowledge. Meanwhile, the State Police has also begun implementing the plan of measures for the smooth running of school security.
The Director of Public Order, Agron Çeli, spoke today about these measures in a live interview with Klan News.
He said that no problems were noted today, except for heavy traffic and delays in the start of classes, due to the desire, as he expressed it, of parents to send their children to school on the first day in their own cars.
"Greetings, once again wishing all the children and teaching staff a successful new school year 2025-2026, I can say that what we expressed in the statement has been implemented in the field.
State Police services have been deployed in all schools, both those in uniform and those at a distance. So far, from the reports we have from the leaders of local structures, there have been no problems. As you have also noted, the cause of some delays has been heavy traffic, due to the infrastructure, but also transportation, the desire of parents to take their children to school by car. There has been a large load. I will ask them to take them on foot, not by car, because the traffic is heavy and, normally, they come to school late, "said Çeli.
Speaking about the plan of measures, Çeli called on both security officers, as well as parents and teachers, to be attentive to the items that children take to school with them.
"Mainly, control will be exercised according to the program that we have drafted and we will not have problems, but at the same time, security officers must be attentive, parents, teachers, regarding items that students may carry illegally, based on previous events, because there have been problems that have ended in tragedy. We would ask all parents, before their children leave for school, to possibly check their bags, so that children do not carry illegal items with them," said the Director of Public Order.
He further added that the Police's plan of measures is not only for the first day of school, but for the entire period of the new school year, from today until the end of school.
