Journalist Klodiana Lala revealed details from the investigations into former president Ilir Meta and his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Lala said that they are being investigated since the education of the children of Mr. Meta and Mrs. Kryemadhi in Great Britain.
According to her, there are suspicions that there have been transactions abroad, property purchases outside Albania, transactions and transfers of assets to third parties.
"The Special Prosecutor's Office declares that following the investigations on the file of Meta and Kryemadhi, and it is very difficult to derive details from this file. From sources outside the SPAK, i.e. from third parties, I have learned that there are letters or letters addressed to several countries, inside and outside the EU, where data has been requested, because in this case it is not only about the case of the CEZ-DIA file, or of lobbying in the USA, but the Special Prosecutor's Office, as in the case of Mr. Ahmetaj, Mr. Berisha in the case of the "Partizani" file, and in the case of Mr. Meta is tracking the assets of the former president and of his wife and persons related to them.
Since many criminal offenses are suspected to have been consumed over the years and a long time has passed and the statute of limitations and criminal offenses have been prescribed. Apparently, the wealth that is translated into an accusation for the criminal offense of money laundering, in the present case they are being investigated since the education of the children of Mr. Meta and Mrs. Kryemadhi in Great Britain, there are suspicions that there were transactions abroad, the suspicions about purchase of properties outside Albania, transactions and transfers of assets to third parties. So at this stage is the investigation. As for when there will be a result, I am not clear when it will happen, but the file is more than 4 years old ", said Lala.
