Journalist Dashamir Biçaku, during a direct connection from France, made a summary about Dritan Rexhepi's life in Ecuador and the reasons that forced him to leave that country.

According to the journalist, the reason that forced Dritan Rexhepin to leave Ecuador for Colombia was a clash with a more powerful criminal group than the one the Albanian belonged to.
" I left Ecuador on September 30 and arrived in France on October 1. I went because I had a personal project related to drug trafficking issues. First, Gramoz Rexhepi (Dritan Rexhepi) was in 2014 by the Ecuadorian police regarding cocaine trafficking issues related to an investigation they had.
It is true that he had a guaranteed role in Ecuador, at the same time as a liaison between the groups. Dritan Rexhepi must be given the truth, according to me, he was not the head of the drug trafficking cartels. It is true that there has been much notoriety for the various cases that have occurred. But he was not the most important man in my opinion.
After being released from prison in 2001 on the claim that he was suffering from an illness, he left the prison where he was serving his sentence. I could not identify the disease. He submitted a forensic report, and also received a reduced sentence for exemplary behavior and due to some court proceedings.
But in 2020, one of the bosses, partners, collaborators with whom Dritan Rexhepi was killed was killed in Ecuador. After his murder, Gramoz Rexhepi (Dritan Rexhepi) had a violent clash with a cocaine criminal group in Ecuador, who were much more powerful than him.
There were clashes with weapons, which was a group many times more powerful than the one represented by Dritan Rexhepi. If he had had support from other groups he would not have been forced to leave for Colombia. Due to the collision, he left for Ecuador. It is a group where there are Albanians, Ecuadorians and Mexicans.
