Considered the "head" of the drug cartel, or the "king of cocaine", Dritan Rexhepi is accused of numerous criminal offences, including the hostage-taking and murder of Jan Prenga several years ago.
Dritan Rexhepi was declared an international wanted suspect for many criminal offences. He was also wanted in Spain, Italy and Great Britain as accused of cocaine trafficking. In Albania, he was sentenced in absentia to 25 years in prison for the murder of two policemen in Fushë-Krujë, Arben Keqi and Durim Kasmi, which happened in 1998. A year earlier, he was arrested in the premises of the "Hotel Tirana" together with Nadien Zeneli but would escape from the premises of the Durrës police station.
His name is Gramoz but he is known as Dritan, he has had many names including Lulzim and many others until the last one, Benjamin Omar Perez Garcia. With this name in the passport, the much-wanted Dritan Rexhepi was arrested three days ago in the capital of Turkey.
