Karamuço reveals the details: How cocaine moves and Dritan Rexhepi's
Ervin Karamuço

Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço has shown how cocaine moves through cartels from Ecuador through the Atlantic to Europe, and the role of Rexhep in drug trafficking.

Duma: Karamuço, a criminal mind. These are also properties or strategies that people are born with to some extent, that they have this strategic decision-making speed to find a solution to escape arrest, prisons, to escape a very weak Albanian system, but even western security systems. What does such a character represent in the theories of criminology because you have said endlessly here that the police is much more inferior than the crime in the evolution of tools, tactics and everything?

Caramuço: Let me tell you what Ecuador stands for. Ecuador is not on the Atlantic side, but on the Pacific side. To cross the Atlantic and come to Europe, a ship from Ecuador must pass through the Strait of Panama. And Ecuador is bordered by 3 countries that produce 96% of the world's cocaine; Bolivia, Peru and Colombia. All three of these have their own gangs and cartel groups. Let's not confuse criminal groups with cartels. Today, no Albanian works to lead the cartels. Cartels are the ones who set the origin price, we are wholesalers; ie packers, wholesalers, transporters and distributors. The cartel is the criminal cocaine stock market.

Considered the "head" of the drug cartel, or the "king of cocaine", Dritan Rexhepi is accused of numerous criminal offences, including the hostage-taking and murder of Jan Prenga several years ago.

Dritan Rexhepi was declared an international wanted suspect for many criminal offences. He was also wanted in Spain, Italy and Great Britain as accused of cocaine trafficking. In Albania, he was sentenced in absentia to 25 years in prison for the murder of two policemen in Fushë-Krujë, Arben Keqi and Durim Kasmi, which happened in 1998. A year earlier, he was arrested in the premises of the "Hotel Tirana" together with Nadien Zeneli but would escape from the premises of the Durrës police station.

His name is Gramoz but he is known as Dritan, he has had many names including Lulzim and many others until the last one, Benjamin Omar Perez Garcia. With this name in the passport, the much-wanted Dritan Rexhepi was arrested three days ago in the capital of Turkey.
