Who was Gerti Bogdani?
The life of former MP Gerti Bogdan was unfortunately not long, but in his 44 years, he managed to leave a mark in politics.
He was an excellent student, who left the United States of America to return in 2005 to Albania, where he took the first steps of his political career with the Democratic Party.
In 2007, he won his first electoral contest in the partial local elections, where he was elected mayor of Minibashki number 10 in Tirana, which was also his neighborhood where he grew up.
He wore the jacket of the deputy for the first time in the parliamentary elections of June 28, 2009, a mandate which he also renewed in the electoral race of 2013.
In parallel with the mandate of the legislator, he led the Youth Forum of the Democratic Party and held the position of secretary for External Relations of the Democratic Party, a position he gave up in 2019 as politics was not part of his plans.
The last electoral race for Gerti Bogdan was the primaries of Sali Berisha, where he asked to be a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, but in the challenge held in 2022 in the Democratic Party, he could not win.
The father of two daughters and husband of the activist Edlira Çepani, Gerti Bogdani had withdrawn from active politics in recent years, for new challenges, which were interrupted in the middle because his heart stopped beating prematurely due to a cardiac arrest.
