Former prosecutor Besnik Muçi has stated that Albanian organized crime groups have taken on the form of the mafia. Speaking about the joint mega-operation of SPAK and the Albanian Anti-Mafia, he said that the Italians themselves say that Albanian groups resemble the Sicilian mafia.
