Journalist Elton Qyno has detailed his involvement in an investigation launched by SPAK, where, according to him, he became part of a scenario to tarnish his image and influence high-level judicial decisions.
Invited to the show 'Çim Peka Live' on SYRI TV, Qyno stressed that he was investigated for passive corruption in the private sector, along with journalist Artan Hoxha, without any concrete evidence.
He also described the moment when he was summoned to SPAK on December 13, describing it as an unusual scenario, as according to him, he was standing in the prosecutor's office on the second floor, while the trial for the issuance of a search warrant against him was taking place on the second floor.
" It took several conversations of other people to get me involved in this criminal case. There are no codes, no secret apps, just WhatsApp and Telegram ," said Qyno, calling the entire process an attempt to unfairly involve him in an investigation with the aim of smearing and public pressure.
Elton Qyno: The other issue I have with SPAK, which is still open, is the issue where we were put under investigation together with Artan Hoxha for passive corruption in the private sector and in the administration sector. But they had to go all out to find Elton Qyno's codes.
Elton Qyno not only had no codes, but he also had no secret applications, except for a WhatsApp and a Telegram. It took several conversations of other people, second or third, to involve Elton Qyno in a criminal case with the sole purpose of tarnishing Elton Qyno and on the other hand losing the trial in the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court.
Actually, when the first case happened, I suffered a shock because I had not expected that wave of attack. On December 13, even though I was locked inside. Of course, I have been in and out of that building for many years in a row and I did not have that emotion why they were keeping me there, and the moment they started asking me that they would implement the procedure, I thought that they would keep me there for 48 hours and then release me.
But when they came to me with three control decisions, I was surprised and felt embarrassed because I could no longer say no to the three control decisions because they had to be executed. Especially since the 3 control decisions were made in 55 minutes, while I was upstairs, the trial was going on downstairs. A procedure that had never been done before, not in Albania, but not in any country in Europe or the world, where the journalist was kept upstairs on the second floor and the trial was going on downstairs.
And the journalist is kidnapped, put in a car, they took me home to execute the court's decision. And I was in the air. Later, at 1:30, I came out of the doors of SPAK. They told me there (at the Constitutional Court) that it cannot be proven that he was held in SPAK. Now, how can I prove that I entered your house. They have the cameras, let them take them out.
I myself did not expect that checks would be carried out.
