Accused of property alienation, hearing for claim against Jorgo Goro postponed

The Special Court has postponed the hearing for the granting of a claim against the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, regarding the second criminal proceeding against him, for property alienation with Arqile Bollanon as the beneficiary.

"We have prepared 75-page conclusions, but we need time to include the defense's claims in the final session ," said Prosecutor Elvin Gokaj.

The hearing for the submission of the claim was scheduled for July 2 at 8:30 AM.

Goro is accused of abuse of office more than once committed in collaboration, while the defendants in this file are Vasillaq Strakosha, former director of land and property management at the Himara Municipality, and Jerasimo Bashi, who has been separated because the security measure has not yet been executed.

Jorgo Goro was reported by Fredi Beleri with the claim that in 2016 he donated 4,263 meters of land to his appointed successor at the head of the Municipality, Arqile Bollano.

Jorgo Goro was reported to the Court as being in the prison hospital, and did not attend the hearing. He was sentenced to 3 years and 1 month in prison, which with a shortened trial this sentence is reduced to 2 years and 20 days in prison.

The former officials were investigated by SPAK for the alienation of land in Himara in this case where the ultimate beneficiary was Artan Gaçi.
