Analyst Ergys Mërtiri said that the message that Ilir Meta is giving to Albanians at this moment is that he is "afraid of prison".
Commenting on recent developments in the Freedom Party, where it seems that the Meta-Kryemadhi couple have a clash of ideologies, Mërtiri said that Kryemadhi is more logical and has a better political language than her husband.
According to Mërtiri, Meta is "fighting" SPAK, since it will put him in prison and not Edi Rama to get votes.
" The people who were in that party did not come out today. Mr. Meta saw them and knew them, he did not reveal anything now, thirdly, Mr. Meta says that they have trouble with the elections. So everything is done to win the electorate, since according to him, nepotism has damaged the party. The question is when was this nepotism discovered and are votes really won by attacking SPAK?
I don't think it makes sense for you to become a politician by attacking someone who you say wants to put you in prison. The message that is sent to the citizens is I am afraid of prison, or I am fighting to escape from prison. So he is fighting with someone who is trying to put him in jail and not with someone to get votes.
From this point of view, Kryemadhi seems to me much more logical and with better political language than Ilir Meta. The mayor does not talk about prison, but about the opposition, about the incinerators and about the abuses of the government, which is what any normal opposition should do ", said Mërtiri to Euronews.
