Open letter to Prime Minister Rama from a final year student at the Faculty of Sciences: "500 million euros per month from call centers, while I can't wait to get my degree to work for 500 euros per month. Is this the Albania you left us?"
Lord Rama,
Is it that simple?
Twenty-five thousand young people in Tirana work in call centers that defraud German and Italian pensioners. 500 million euros a month, say the Italians of "Le Iene". You did not deny it. You did not refute it. Be silent.
And the rest of us, those who believed we could build something here, what can we say?
Those young people who chose to study in Albania. Who got tired. Who didn't have the opportunity to go abroad, or wanted to stay in their country. Those who studied for years, who sacrificed, who believed that honest work has value.
Today they see their peers sitting in the offices of your brother, Olsi, and earning millions of euros by cheating. They see them going out in luxury cars and villas, living like kings. I ask myself: why did I get tired?
You have taught this lesson to the new generation, Mr. Rama. That in this Albania, the master is not the one who works and gets tired. The master is the one who steals. The one who deceives, kills, takes hostages. The one whose brother is the prime minister.
You have defiled the young people who believed in European Albania. You defiled them with deputies like Sara Mila and others, whom you put in the Assembly without any merit. And now you are defiling them even worse. You are showing them that the model of success is not education, but attachment and submission. It is not work, but deceit. It is not honesty, but shamelessness.
500 million euros a month, Mr. Rama. This is your brother's industry. And you don't know anything? You haven't seen anything? You are the Prime Minister of Albania and you don't know what goes on in your brother's offices in Tirana?
Don't tell us about "renaissance" anymore. Because part of your renaissance is built on the young people who deceive Europeans and on the backs of those who struggle in vain. You are that tall, slob from the last bank, who was bullied all his life and now you are running the country like a mafia boss.
But the question is this, Mr. Rama: until when?
How long will you allow Albania to be called the "European Fraud Center"? How long will you allow young Albanians to grow up knowing that the only way to wealth is to work in the call center of the prime minister's brother? How long will Brussels turn a blind eye and you continue to pretend that you know nothing?
Because one day, maybe sooner than you think, this scheme will fall. Call centers will be raided one by one. The fraudsters will be extradited. And when it's your turn to answer, don't say you didn't know. Because we all knew. You know too.
You just had to not see it.
So, tell me now: when I get my degree, what should I do with it? Should I go abroad like thousands of others, or should I open an office on the fourth floor of a building and start calling Germans? Because you have left me this model of success. Not the university, but the call center. Not science, but fraud.
