The Municipal Council of Tirana has today approved the criteria for the benefit of soft loans.
Although the meeting was initially accompanied by tensions between right-wing councilors and Mayor Veliaj, the draft passed. Young couples will have priority this year as well.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj said that 1200 needy families will benefit.
" We have had for years in the Municipality of Tirana a program that helped young families who wanted to buy their first house. In the last year, with the increase in tourists and foreigners who have bought houses in Tirana, of course the market has also had its rise. We have recalculated the benefit, so that the soft loan rate is higher. Because what we have realized is that we want to keep pace with the market. We have agreed on 1200 families, so we will open applications for 1200 families very soon. For all those who say that the value of property in Tirana has increased, this is a good thing for those who own property. For those who do not have property, we have this package today ," said Veliaj.
