The General Directorate of Prisons announced that during the inspections carried out in three institutions for the execution of criminal decisions, several mobile phones and other prohibited items were seized. The procedural materials have been referred for further action.
In the context of strengthening security measures and preventing the introduction or possession of prohibited items in prisons, the General Directorate of Prisons has conducted inspections in the Institutions for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Durrës, Peqin and Shkodër.
According to the official announcement, the controls were carried out by the Security Group, under the direction of the heads of institutions, police chiefs, specialists of the Supervision Agency in the System of Execution of Criminal Decisions and under the supervision of Mr. Frank.
At the Durrës Penitentiary Institution, the searches were conducted inside the “A” building, in the room where the detainees with the initials GA, NB, EC and M.Ç. were staying. During the search, a black “iPhone” mobile phone was found, hidden under the pillow of the detainee EC, who admitted that the phone was his property.
Also, during the search in the same building, two USB devices were found, which were seized and administered as prohibited items.
Meanwhile, at the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Peqin, checks were carried out in residential buildings and common areas. In the shower areas, two mobile phones were found and seized: a white "Samsung" and a black "Redmi".
Checks were also conducted at the Shkodra Penitentiary, where during a physical search of the detainee with the initials GZ, an "iPhone" type mobile phone was found and seized, along with its charger. According to the authorities, the person was immediately isolated and an incident report was drawn up for the case.
Two other "iPhone" type mobile phones were also found in the common areas of the institution in Shkodra.
For all cases, the Directorate of Prisons informs that the relevant minutes of the blocking and delivery of prohibited items have been drawn up, while the procedural materials have been referred to the competent Agency for further procedural actions, in accordance with the legislation in force.
