Who has the finger on the trigger: Serbia, Croatia, Albania or Kosovo?

It is not the first time that the Serbian president has spoken about the imaginary dangers of the newly created military alliance of Croatia, Albania and Kosovo...

It's a matter of time, they are just waiting for the right moment to attack us, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in an invited appearance on RTS Public Service on Thursday evening, March 12. He was referring to Croatia, Albania and Kosovo.

It is not the first time that the Serbian president has spoken about the imaginary dangers of the newly created military alliance of Croatia, Albania and Kosovo, with the sole purpose of militarily attacking Serbia.

Each time, in recent months, it seems that Aleksandar Vučić is making these warnings more severe. Serbian analysts at ' Danas ' agree that he is intimidating the citizens of Serbia in order to stay in power.

In his latest public appearance, Aleksandar Vučić said that Serbia is “preparing for an attack” from Albania, Croatia and Kosovo, stating that they are forming a military alliance to attack Serbia at some point in the future.

"They will wait for the moment when a bigger conflict breaks out between the Europeans and the Russians, and an even bigger conflict in the Middle East. We cannot attack NATO countries, nor do we want to, but do I doubt their intentions, I think these are their only intentions, they are simply waiting for a favorable moment when there will be general chaos in the world ," he added.

Sonja Biserko, president of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, told the newspaper Danas that President Vučić is trying to present Serbia as an indispensable regional actor without which security issues in the Balkans cannot be resolved. He says that Serbia's ongoing rearmament, which has already caused concern in the region, also contributes to this.

His statements about the alleged “formation of a military alliance” of Croatia, Albania and Kosovo, as well as claims that Croatia was working to destroy Serbia, are part of his political and electoral rhetoric. Such messages aim to mobilize the citizens of Serbia by creating a sense of threat, now through a narrative about a possible war, which is reminiscent of the rhetoric of Viktor Orbán who claimed that Ukraine is a threat to Hungary ,” she explains.

Nebojsa Vujovic, Serbia's former ambassador to the United States, on the other hand, says that Vucic is seeking to satisfy his empty ego by talking about "imaginary" military invasions of Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo in Serbia.

Aleksandar Vučić did not have enough wartime toys to play with and enjoy as a child. Perhaps his parents did not buy him “plastic airplanes, tanks, toy soldiers and ninja turtles” as a child. He did not prove himself “militaryly” in the early period, and he left Čipuljić when the war swept through Bosnia. This did not bother him, so he continued the war from the comfort of his parents' apartment and from Sešelj's captaincy. He made an effort to later receive a war “memorial” and not be blamed for the fact that neither as a child nor as Sešelj's servant, he had enjoyed the war ,” Nebojsa Vujović, former Serbian ambassador to the United States, told Danas. / Adapted from “Pamphlet” by “Danas”
