"Luigj Gurakuqi" in Shkodër agreement with "Monroe"

Monroe University, with campuses in New York and Saint Lucia, and the University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi” in Shkodra, Albania, today agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate academic and cultural exchange opportunities for students at both institutions.

Monroe University, founded in 1933, serves a diverse student body of more than 9,000 students at its campuses in New York and St. Lucia, as well as online.

With students representing a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, Monroe is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive community and engaging through outreach programs and initiatives that foster positive social impact.

Known for its innovative programs and commitment to student success, Monroe University has become a destination for many Albanian-American students seeking higher education. This memorandum will not only strengthen Monroe University's ties to the Albanian-American community in New York, but will also deepen its ties abroad, fostering a truly global academic and cultural bridge.

The University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi", founded in 1957, is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Albania. located in Shkodër, a cultural and academic center in northern Albania, the University serves approximately 5,200 students annually. The University is deeply committed to advancing the educational and professional opportunities of its students by fostering a culture of academia, innovation and global engagement. Through advanced research and a focus on international collaboration, the University of Shkodra ensures that its students are equipped to succeed in an interconnected world, while maintaining strong ties to Albania's rich cultural and historical heritage.

The Memorandum of Understanding was reached by Bota Consulting Group ( ëëë.botaconsultinggroup.com ), under the leadership of CEO Lola Gazivoda.
