After several hours of protest in the center of Tirana, the rally organized against the tourist project planned to be built in the Zvërnec area has ended. The protest began at 6:00 PM in front of the Ministry of Interior, and then continued with a march towards the Prime Minister's Office, where citizens remained until the end of the activity.
Hundreds of citizens, activists and environmentalists joined the second consecutive protest in the capital, opposing the project that they say violates one of the country's most important natural and tourist areas.
During the rally, protesters held banners with messages such as "Albania is not for sale" and "Cancel the project", while there was no shortage of political calls. In front of the Prime Minister's Office, slogans such as "Rama is out" and "Free the offices" were repeatedly heard, while some of the participants also expressed criticism of the opposition and the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
One of the most symbolic moments of the evening was the lighting of cell phone flashes by protesters gathered on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, as a sign of awareness and support for their cause.
At the end of the protest, organizers and participants warned that the mobilization will continue in the coming days. Amidst shouts and applause, the protest conveyed the message “More tomorrow,” hinting that opposition to the Zvërnec project is expected to continue with other rallies in the capital.
