After about 5 hours, the session at GJKKO for Vangjush Dako has ended, as the jury has retired for the decision.
The former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, will be familiar with the security measure today. He is accused of breaching his duty for an 11-story building, that he built an extension without permission, as well as for a sand tender on Currilove beach, while he is officially charged with 'Abuse of duty' and 'Forgery of documents'.
Meanwhile, during the session, Dako and the other arrested former officials were all shown behind the glass cage, awaiting the appointment of the security measure. It is learned that Dako is seeking release through a financial guarantee.
Dako, declared non-rata by the US, has contested the charges through his lawyer. The session is expected to last, while it will take place behind closed doors.
SPAK, as part of the investigation based on a report by several residents of a building that collapsed in the 2019 earthquake, has issued 7 arrest warrants.
