Journalist Eni Ferhati revealed details of the SPAK mega-operation where 10 people were captured, 7 Albanians in the role of financiers and organizers of the international cocaine traffic and 3 Latin citizens, 1 Colombian and 2 Venezuelans. The latter were in the role of "experts" who would extract the drug from the salted animal skin.
Ferhati said that the cargoes were sent from a Latin American country, transited through Italian ports and then arrived in Albania, adding that SPAK knew about drug trafficking from the beginning.
"In both cases of cargoes with animal skins that were imported to Albania, SPAK was fully aware, both in the first shipment in September and in November, a few days ago. The loads started from a Latin American country, transited through Italian ports and then arrived in Albania. It is suspected that hundreds of kilograms of pure cocaine were hidden in the skins of the seized cattle, which, after being processed in Albania, would increase in volume. "SPAK, in cooperation with foreign authorities, has deliberately let the loads enter the country to see where they would be unloaded, and their arrival coincides with the arrival of Colombian and Venezuelan experts in Albania," said Eni Ferhati to Euronews.
According to the journalist, SPAK is also investigating other people involved, who may be part of the group as envoys to Latin American countries to organize the launch and make the drug payments, the companies that were used, etc.
