Analyst Skënder Minxhozi has analyzed the presence of Ilir Meta in the political scene, saying that his popularity has fallen even according to polls. He said that Meta had value in politics when his decisions produced majorities.
Minxhozi said that Meta is between two fires, where on the one hand Edi Rama does not need him and on the other hand Sali Berisha needs him.
"He may be serious, the problem is whether Albanians accept this kind of seriousness. The popularity of the former president in recent years, in the polls I see, has been weak, practically even his role currently, situated between two fires, between Rama, who does not need Meta, and Berisha, who needs Meta, but he has his own way, and Meta himself views with skepticism this second collaboration in the upcoming elections, I see that the Freedom Party is not in front of another 20-year-old, as he has stated, it is a very different party from that of 2004. Today it is a party that Berisha needs, but Berisha does not need himself, because they fail to produce votes to return to power. It is a party that has a very deep problem. I have the impression that that trend has passed.
Meta had value when its decisions produced majorities, either left or right. Whatever his decision is in relation to Berisha, I think that Meta's role is also redone", he emphasized for the show Real Story on ABC News.
