The Home Office has confirmed that it has started work on police self-declaration forms that will include a question about the use of encrypted or secure messaging apps SKY and Encrochat.
Journalist Edison Vatnikaj explained that the reason for this decision is the fact that after several operations it was discovered that senior police officers had used these coded applications and had communicated through them with organized crime groups.
Meanwhile, Vatnikaj clarified the form that will be followed for filling out the self-declaration forms by State Police employees.
The "Sky Encro Chat" application is widely debated in Albania, after it has shed light on several criminal events involving former heads of the State Police.
The detainees of the "Metamorfoza" file are seeking their freedom in the Supreme Court. They have filed an appeal following the Court of Special Appeal's decision that left them in jail, arguing that the communications on the SKY ECC app cannot be called evidence as they were not taken in the form required by law.
This position was also maintained by the lawyers of the arrested in the first instance and in the appeal, but the security measure of "prison arrest" was left in force against them. /Time News
