One of the protesters who spoke during the rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office building called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign, stating that citizens will continue the protests until he leaves power.
In his speech to the protesters, he listed a number of issues that, according to him, constitute government failures, citing immigration, the state of agriculture, public transportation, fuel prices, and the lack of a living wage.
The protester also accused the government of a lack of accountability towards citizens and demanded the confiscation of the assets of politicians who, according to him, are corrupt.
"We want the confiscation of the assets of corrupt politicians. Stop the deception and answer to the people. Resign, leave, your time is up. We will build a New Albania," he said.
Following his speech, the protester warned that the civic action will continue until the prime minister leaves.
"If this one doesn't leave, we will hold this square hostage until you leave," he declared, as the speech was accompanied by cheers and applause from participants in the 29th anti-government protest.
