The focus of the meeting will be cooperation in the field of defense, regional security, and geopolitical developments.
Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, will pay an official visit to Athens on Monday, where he will be received by his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias.
According to Greek media, the meeting will begin with a one-on-one conversation between the two ministers, which will be followed by an extended meeting with the respective delegations at the premises of the Greek Ministry of Defense.
The focus of the discussions is expected to be the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, regional security, as well as the exchange of views on regional and international developments in the field of security.
Nufi's visit to Athens comes a few days after Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias paid an official visit to Tirana, where he met with his Albanian counterpart and Prime Minister Edi Rama. After the meetings in the Albanian capital, Dendias stated that he discussed with Rama the broader geopolitical situation and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, while with Minister Nufi he talked about deepening cooperation in the field of defense and issues related to bilateral relations.
During the visit to Tirana, the Greek Minister of Defense also conveyed to his Albanian counterpart an invitation to conduct an official visit to Athens, which is expected to be confirmed on Monday.
The visit takes place during a period of increasing diplomatic contacts between Tirana and Athens, while in the coming weeks, other visits by senior Greek officials are expected in Albania as part of the bilateral agenda and regional meetings.
