The Ministry of the Interior has reacted to the tensions and conflicts that occurred today in the Ashraf camp in Manzë, Durrës. The ministry says that the operation is in compliance with SPAK's order, since MEK has not adhered to these commitments that they signed and broke the agreement.
" Today's State Police operation at the MEK headquarters in Manez, Durrës is in full compliance with the SPAK order and the decision of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime.
The Court's decision is a consequence of actions that clearly contradict the agreement and commitments made by the MEK group since 2014 when they settled in Albania only for humanitarian purposes. Unfortunately, this group has not adhered to these commitments, breaking the agreement. The intervention of the State Police has been in accordance with the law and in correct implementation of the procedures that require such operations. The actions of the State Police for the implementation of the law were carried out as in any other part of the territory of the Republic of Albania.
Unfortunately, inside the camp there was resistance to the work of the State Police, which contradicts the procedural framework of law enforcement. Based on the data of the State Police, there was no loss of life or injuries during the operation. For every claim for loss of life, all the procedural verifications are being done in the hospital of their place of residence ," says the reaction of the Ministry of the Interior.
