"The police caught Meta off guard at that moment", Ngjela: SPAK is

Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has commented on the arrest of the head of PL Ilir Meta. Njjela emphasized that this was something that was expected, but Meta himself did not expect that he would be arrested at such a moment.

"As the media had exploded, it was expected. That he would go to court was not discussed. It was within the procedure. They may have had other information as well. I saw the manner of arrest. Very strong. That procedure was not always followed. This was the president and he has bodyguards. If he escaped, he would receive political asylum because he was president. But he didn't think of this one, I think. He didn't expect it, it came suddenly", said Njela for "Report TV".

Regarding the accusations of the Freedom Party that Meta's kidnapping was attempted, Njjela rejects them saying that SPAK is not wrong. The lawyer goes on to say that an acquittal would strengthen Meta a lot politically.

"Why didn't they kidnap him? Co-workers have the right to defend you. The question is, did he do what he is accused of? We will see you in court. An innocence of this strengthens him greatly. SPAK is not wrong here. We will see when the court process starts. We will hear the defense. The question is, has it been corrupt? When everyone tells you that you are a thief, and you say that you are honest, you are a thief", he said.

According to Ngjela, a process of cleansing from high-level state crime and corruption is continuing in Albania.

"We Albanians have an expression, the eye is better than the mouth. There is a deputy prime minister, there are 4 ministers, mayors. They are also a former president and former prime minister. The condition is clean. In our language it is purgo. Purge against state crime", said Ngjela.

"Corruption is an equal disease. Both there and here. It is more difficult there. That they know the secret. Not here. The thief is the one who knows how to hide", added Ngjela.

Meanwhile, regarding the expected action of the opposition aimed at destabilization, Ngjela says that this is impossible.

"Instability is difficult because these people have the power. Will they kill the policemen? It is an abstract notion. Why didn't they kill? They can't do more. It has not happened in the West and Europe, and it will not happen here either, for thieves to make a popular movement. It is an absolute impossibility. Because the evil of these, the thieving character, the Albanian society speaks like that. Public opinion says so, they are corrupt. What matters is what people say, they are capable of overturning prejudices" , says the lawyer.

The opposition itself, with the political annihilation of the two current leaders, will be strengthened. But the problem remains, according to Njjela, that this current opposition has a political narrative that does not stick to people only with accusations.

"The opposition is getting stronger. Do leaders have votes? They can never win. They have no votes. Rama damages him. Rama's consciousness is damaged by Saliu's departure. We should not confuse the strength of SP with the strength of Rama. We have not seen Rama leave the party. He is under the party, that is, he is the slave of the party. This is a left society. The internationals have told us. And this comes from the communist regime", said Ngjela.

According to Njjela, Rama would not be what it is without the Socialist Party. It is the SP that has a large electorate because it is the leftist people.

"That regime did not pass without affect. I was on campaigns with them, where they could. The population was leftist, it's their votes. You have to be blind to beat them. Great eloquence is needed for new political thought. The opposition has no idea for a program. He only insults the opponent. They have no value in politics, you need ideas to influence public opinion. Ideas are for national development", concluded the lawyer.
