After the recent SPAK operations, where employees and ex-employees of the police have been arrested after cooperating with crime, the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, said that a self-cleaning is being carried out in the police.
During today's meeting in Gjirokastër of the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, with David Wisner, the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy, Balla said that the time has come for every employee of the State Police to choose between the uniform and law enforcement or cooperation with crime.
From the Kakavija Border Crossing Point, he emphasized that self-cleaning in the State Police should continue every day in a systematic way to increase citizens' trust in the blue uniforms.
"We must continue the process of self-cleaning in the State Police every day in a systematic way, to take this process to another level. Because we have to take the credibility of Albanian citizens to the Police to another level. The more we fight corruption within the State Police, the more the confidence of the citizens grows", Balla from Gjirokastra emphasized.
Addressing the border forces in the south of the country, the minister focused on the case of the arrest of a police officer in Kapshtica.
"A few days ago, AMP in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office hit a case that is not the only one, within us, that with the uniform of the State Police cooperated with the crime of drug trafficking. We will be very strong, very tough to fight this phenomenon in the State Police all these years, without any tolerance because our goal is to make the State Police the most trusted institution in this country," he said.
A day ago, Minister Balla signed the order that attached the self-declaration form of every police officer, if he had access to the SKY ECC/Encro Chat applications.
