The elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, has refused to testify in the courtroom today. In GJKKO, the next hearing against him was held and it was requested that Beleri himself speak. But he refused. Meanwhile, Arsen Rama's brother was expected to testify today. The latter is the police infiltrator, who received money from Fredi Beleri for votes.
Abdyl Rama was not present at the session, but it was SPAK who read two testimonies given by him at the prosecution premises.
Abdyl Rama has been missing since July and cannot be found by the police or the prosecution. It is suspected that he has found shelter abroad and SPAK was forced to offer his statements during interrogation as evidence. The first testimony was given at the prosecutor's office in Vlora, on the day of the arrest, and the other in June at SPAK.
" A few days after Beler's arrest, I was caught in Himare by two people who asked me to retract his statements and that of his brother Arsen Rama. They said they are Beler's friends. If you retract the statements, we will provide political asylum for the brother in Greece. On another day while fleeing to Livadh on a motorcycle, a person cut my path and who looked like he was holding a gun, threatened me and cursed me in Greek from my dead mother. Since Fredi Beleri was arrested, we have been bankrupted business because no one buys us fish anymore, and no one speaks to us in Himare anymore ", says Avdyl Rama's testimony read today at the prosecutor's office.
But this was rejected by Beler's lawyers, who claim both brothers should be convicted of fraud. " Abdyl Rama and Arsen Rama have been convicted in 2-3 courts of Albania for different cases. On the 19th, when the trial was postponed, he has a trial here and they cannot find him. This is the Abdyl Rama they cannot find. There are two brothers who have organized all this. One brother is protecting the other. This is true. They are both convicted several times, the police use them ," Beler's lawyer said.
We recall that Beleri was arrested two days before the May 14 local elections. According to the prosecution, the wiretapping shows that he offered money in exchange for votes in his favor. Beleri himself rejected the accusations and spoke about an act with a political background. Today the session was also attended by the Greek ambassador.
