Lawyer Arben Llangozi, invited to the podcast "Të Pashoq" on Pamfleti, described the civic protest as a popular uprising against the entire political class, saying that after 45 days of resistance it has shaken the political system in Albania.
According to Llangoz, the harsh political reaction to the protesters shows that the government has been put under pressure by citizens.
" I think that the protest is a popular uprising, which has arisen not only to regulate the way of life of citizens, but is a fight against this old policy, which has devoured public property, taken public funds and represents all the corrupt values of Albanian politics. If we refer to the history of this protest, we are about 45 days old and it has completely disrupted the Albanian political system. We have never seen MPs personally deal with citizens of the Republic of Albania, blackmail them and get out of their own way ", said Llangozi.
The lawyer added that, in his opinion, the aggressiveness of politics towards the protest is proof that citizens are challenging the power that has been established for years.
" This means that at the moment when the people seek to take their power, politicians become aggressive and irresponsible, highlighting their predatory nature. We have politicians who have spent their entire lives in politics and have done nothing for Albania, except to steal every penny of public funds. For years we have denounced the corrupt affairs of this government and the previous one. Today the people are fighting this battle themselves through protest, rising up against a political class that has shown that it collaborates against citizens ," said Llangozi.
