From Saranda to Shkodra, the protestor demands "sieves" for every

At the 46th protest of the civic revolt, held in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, Coordination Group member Përparim Gjeka presented a series of new demands related to the administration and verification of properties on the Albanian coast.

Gjeka stated that, even if Law 21 of 2024 is repealed, problems with properties on the coastline will remain and, according to him, an independent process is needed to verify their legality.

"Albanian brothers and sisters, we have fought every day to protect the Albanian coast. Law 21 of 2024 will be repealed. But the inherited problems will remain. Part of the coastal properties has been alienated. SPAK investigations have highlighted abuses of public properties of extraordinary value. Albanians have the right to demand answers as to how these assets were alienated. We demand an independent process, so that each asset can prove its legality ," said the protester.

He requested that all properties along the coastline, from Saranda to Shkodra, be subjected to a verification process and, if proven to have been acquired in violation of the law, be returned to the public interest.

"A national process is needed to verify all properties on the coastline from Saranda to Shkodra. Every villa, every resort and every plot of land should be vetted. Every villa, every resort and every plot of land should be vetted. Every property that is proven by justice to have been taken in violation of the law should be returned to the public interest and national wealth," said Përparim Gjeka.

Next, the citizen proposed the creation of a national fund for the administration of coastal assets, which, according to him, should guarantee transparency and distribution of benefits in the interest of citizens.

"Albania needs a new development vision, as a national coastal asset management fund. A transparent institution that administers the strategic assets of the coast on behalf of the nation and the profits are shared among all Albanians. Coastal development cannot be done without a plan, but a national urban plan is needed. The most beautiful and rare areas must be preserved as national assets. Bays, natural parks, lagoons and unique landscapes cannot be sacrificed for short-term interests. The Albanian diaspora must invest itself. The diaspora must have the opportunity to be part of the development of the homeland. Only on the basis of a planned development, should we welcome serious foreign investments," said Gjeka.
