"The government should not damage the image of Albania", Mediu for the action in Manzë: Analyze the elements of national security

The former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, spoke about the tensions in the mujahedin camp in Manzë, as he said that we as Albanians should not be in a hurry, but should deeply analyze elements of our national security.

"Let's not forget that they have carried out political activity. They are a political organization. The Iranian presidency has gathered a political alliance around itself. It's not something that happened by chance. It has to do with politics with the United States of America. I think who is the relationship that we build as Albanians. With the gesture we made with the Iranians by taking them to Albania, we created the impression of an ally that supports American initiatives.

The position is taken by American politics itself. We as Albanians should not be in a hurry and should try to preserve our image and deeply analyze elements of our national security. Security issues are not an attribute of the executive. I raised the need to have a national security council meeting. There must be executive authority. The government should not impose force and do such actions to the detriment of the image of our country" , said Mediu for 'Panorama.tv'.

"It would be a disaster for Albania. Berisha has asked to be removed from the list of terrorist organizations. Returning to the list of terrorists would mean that we had a terrorist organization in Albania. We cannot have 3 thousand people living in Albania and treat them as we want", concluded the former Minister of Defense.
