A week ago, many residents of the "Kastrioti" neighborhood were admitted to the regional hospital of Peshkopia with diarrhea, vomiting and symptoms of poisoning.
From the interviews that Fiksi conducted with the residents, they claimed that they had problems with drinking water.
"After we consume the water, we have problems with diarrhea, stomach cramps and vomiting", they claim.
About 30 people from this neighborhood ended up in the emergency department of the Peshkopi regional hospital, and according to the residents, this happened from drinking water, as the water supply company was working on the wells of the "Kastriot" neighborhood that day.
Fiksi also went to the emergency room of the hospital where they presented themselves as residents who had abdominal discomfort and vomiting. The first question you were asked by the doctors was whether you had consumed drinking water. In response to "we have consumed it", the doctors told him that he should take serum since the concerns were from the drinking water. As long as Fiksi stayed near the Peshkopi hospital emergency room, three more people presented themselves with the same problems after consuming drinking water from the network.
After Fiksi was informed by the residents that UKD was carrying out works in the wells, the journalists went to see the situation closely. The well that was being cleaned at the time of Fixi's departure was the well that supplied drinking water to the "Kastriot" neighborhood. While cleaning the well, journalists noticed mud-like dirt that later turned out to be fecal matter. So the white water was mixed with the sewage.
On the ground, Fiksi also met the head of the UKD, who at every moment demanded that the film crew film the cleaned wells and not the unclean ones. In the interview, he explained that the UKD had undertaken an action to clean the wells and the question of whether this was the cause of the poisoning of the residents, the responsibility tries to avoid.
"It's not the drinking water that has created this situation for the residents, but maybe the seasonal viruses", says responsible Hajredin Cena. He also added that the fault could also be from the main source in Gure Lure where some works were being carried out there as well, avoiding responsibilities.
But the water analyzes show otherwise. Fiksi inquired at the Institute of Public Health about the answer to the analysis of the water samples they had taken in the "Kastriot" neighborhood.
In their response, it is said that the PIH and NJVKSH Dibër has carried out all the necessary steps to follow up the situation from the epidemiological investigation, the examinations of the water samples to the human ones.
From the examinations of the water samples and from the NJVKSH Dibër and the PIH, the presence of E-Coli, enerocoçi and the presence of ammonia above the norm has resulted in some samples.
Based on the laboratory examination for the presence of viruses in a good part of the patient samples, norovirus G2 was found.
In its response, the ISHP says that the health condition of the patients of the "Kastrioti" neighborhood who ended up in the emergency room of the hospital may have come from the drinking water./TCH
