Researcher Auron Tare has spoken about the attacks on Dritan Goxhaj. Prime Minister Edi Rama himself, but also exponents of the Socialist Party, have harshly criticized him, accusing him of pro-Iranian positions and bringing to attention various episodes from his past.
Commenting on this debate on "Euronews", Tare said that he has no personal friendship with Goxhaj and that he has only met him once in his life. However, he stressed that he knows his family's history and appreciates the contribution that, according to him, she has made to the Kosovo issue.
According to the researcher, not only Dritan Goxhaj, but also his father, mother and sister were involved and committed to the cause of Kosovo. Tare criticized the Albanian political class, accusing it of often not knowing how to appreciate people who have sacrificed or contributed to national interests.
According to Tare, the attacks on the former KLA fighter for speaking out at the protest are unjust and constitute a political "own goal" for those who undertake them.
" Look, I will tell you that Mr. Rama is a master of public debate and for years when he was not in this position he had an extraordinary pen in these debates that he held. Now he has turned these into the role of a senior leader to avoid attention from the main issue, to avoid the five points. He is dealing with Dritan Goxhaj. I have only met Dritan once, I am not friends with him, but what I know about Dritan and his father who was a lecturer at the United School, where I graduated. Both of them together, as is rare, and his mother and sister have been in Kosovo and have been dedicated to the Kosovo issue. After this great commitment, both of them have not been seen well by both socialist and democratic governments, and I am irritated by the fact that Albanian politics for people who sacrifice and give to the country, generally behave badly. I take as a reason what Greece does for Beleri, who is Albanian and supports Greece, while we see Dritan, who I take it as an example of how incorrect our policy is towards the figures of people who have contributed even a little to the issue. For this reason I reacted and I am very sorry that the prime minister and other people, ministers, publish untrue things about Goxhaj and I think it is a big own goal for them, since he is very well known by people who have been involved in the events of Kosovo. I do not think it is right to attack a person for why he came out to speak, especially when he has contributed to the issue of Kosovo , "said Tare.
