Former Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces, Artur Meçollari, has reacted to the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the debate created in recent days about the role of Dritan Goxhaj in the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Through a post on social media, Meçollari has published an official document, which according to him proves Goxhaj's status and contribution in the ranks of the KLA.
This is a decision of the Commission for Verification of the Status of the National Martyr, Invalid, Veteran, Member or Internee of the KLA, signed by the former Chief of the KLA General Staff, Agim Çeku.
According to the published document, with decision no. 18/9642, dated May 20, 2016, Dritan L. Goxhaj has been officially declared a "Combat Veteran of the Kosovo Liberation Army".
Meçollari accompanied the publication of the document with a direct message: " Someone should send this document to Edi Rama. Dritan L. Goxhaj, with the signature of Lieutenant General Agim Çeku, Chief of the KLA General Staff and Chairman of the Commission for Verification of the Status of the National Martyr, Invalid, Veteran, Member or Internee of the KLA, by decision no. 18/9642, dated May 20, 2016, is declared a 'Combat Veteran of the Kosovo Liberation Army' ."
The publication of the document comes at the height of the political debate of recent days, after Dritan Goxhaj read the protesters' demands at the rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office and then became the subject of attacks and comments from representatives of the majority.
