Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço said that a secret operation by the FNSH and RENEA on Tuesday evening resulted in the arrest of one of the perpetrators of the murder of 58-year-old Renato Hoxhaj 2 days ago in the city of Vlora.
Karamuço indicated that the police have fully uncovered the murder, which was initially suspected to be a property issue, which resulted in it being a mafia murder ordered from Dubai by criminal groups.
" So far, it is suspected that the deceased has often been accused by rival criminal groups as an informant for the other group and was executed on orders from the United Arab Emirates. They are transnational groups but have their roots in Vlora ," Karamuço said on Now at Euronews Albania.
58-year-old Renato Hoxhaj was executed with 4 bullets this morning in the "Hajro Çakërri" neighborhood in Vlora near his apartment. He had been working for five years as a guard at a nearby construction site.
Police have provided footage from security cameras, while sources from the investigation team indicate that the perpetrator was masked with a hat and scarf and shot the victim 4 times before leaving on foot down the same street he came from.
