Employees of the fire service from Finiqi, Delvina and Saranda are operating with circumstantial means to extinguish the flames. Meanwhile, according to reports, the fire on Delvina has been brought under control, where many forest trees have been burned.
The high temperatures that have been going on for several days and the blowing wind have favored the spread of fires in Dropull and Finiq.
A resident in the village of Terihat in Dropull, who was endangered by the flames today, tells of the scary moments when the flames approached the houses. He says that all the residents were in danger, as the flames were favored by the strong wind, but fortunately they were saved by the fire brigade.
" We were here at the time of the fire. The flames came immediately because the wind helped them. We risked everything, but thank God the fire trucks also came and I thank them for the help they provided", he says.
The resident urged everyone not to set the fire intentionally, as the damage is serious and could have tragic consequences.
"We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts and please do not set fire. It is impossible to do it on our own. The fire was very aggressive", he said for "TCH".
Firefighters and residents tried for about 3 hours to isolate the flames. Saint Friday's Church by the national road was seriously threatened by fire.
The flames spread to the other side of the national road, burning an area of land with agricultural crops, but currently the situation is under control again.
