The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has issued measures against 9 people, among them assistant specialists and a controller at Rinas airport, who are suspected of taking bribes to pass citizens to EU countries.
The prosecution says that in cooperation with AMP, it was proven that the nine people in cooperation with each other enabled the passage of citizens who were prohibited from entering the territory of European Union countries through the Rinas Airport.
According to the information, the agents received from 50 euros, for people who did not have any problems, but deceived them by telling them that they have problems, up to the values of 500 euros for people who actually had problems with the trip.
How the scheme was discovered:
It is reported that the owner of the tourist agency Eneo Sulejamanaj has been arrested for the criminal offense of "production and sale of narcotics" and the Prosecutor's Office, after seizing his phones, managed to discover the scheme.
From the conversations held between them and the verifications in the TIMS system, it turns out that Sulejmani contacted the Briken Tereziu airport official and sent him the data of the people who bought tickets at his agency, for preliminary verification of the records in the TIMS system if they met conditions to travel to EU countries.
After these persons are verified in advance by him, or his social connections with police officers, instructions are given on the booth where they must appear for data processing and monetary values in exchange for permission to travel and the form of handing over the money
Depending on the problem, for cases in which persons have returned to the INAD or deportee category from EU countries, the police officer Briken Tereziu gave instructions on the travel itinerary that the passenger should carry out, setting as the initial destination the airports of the countries that are not in the EU and then making transit flights to the countries of the Union
In relation to the cases that have other problems, depending on them, monetary values are determined in exchange for allowing the passage, which vary from 50 euros (for people who do not have any problems, but are deceived by them) to the values of 500 euros or more for those who have type problems, they are not allowed to travel as they are returned to the Inad or sports category from other EU member states.

The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana unravels with special methods of investigation the scheme of the transition to the EU of the persons who were detained, security measures for 9 employees of the Airport
The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Tirana requested security measures for nine persons for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", carried out in collaboration, provided for by articles 248, 259 and 25 of the Penal Code.
In the framework of investigations of criminal proceedings no. 1196/2024, investigations with special proactive investigation methods in cooperation with the judicial police of the Police Oversight Agency, Tirana Regional Directorate, it was proven that the nine persons in cooperation with each other to enable the passage of citizens who were prohibited from entering the territory of European Union countries through the Rinas Airport.
As a result of the investigative actions carried out, it became possible to first arrest ES citizens, for the criminal offense "production and sale of narcotics", provided by article 283/2 of the Penal Code. The prosecution, after seizing his phones, managed to discover the scheme.
From the context of the conversations held between them and the verifications in the TIMS system, it turns out that he was in contact with citizen BT., with the duties of Assistant Specialist/Controller at the Rinas Airport Border Police Commissariat. The ES citizen owns a Travel Agency, "Bus Albania" with the object of activity, among others, "agency for ticket sales".
In order to benefit from monetary values, in addition to the value of the plane ticket, the citizen E..S keeps in constant contact with the police officer BT., to whom he sends the data of the persons who bought tickets at this agency, for preliminary verification of records in the TIMS system, to verify if they meet the conditions to travel to EU countries, according to the definitions of the legal and by-laws for this purpose, informing them case by case about the problems they have.
After these persons are verified in advance by him, or his social connections/police officer, instructions are given on the cabin where they should appear for the processing of the data and the monetary values on foot of the permission to travel and the form of their delivery.
