Lawyer Arbër Hoxha said that the trial for the "Partizani" file will take a long time, while adding that former Prime Minister Berisha will drag out the process.
The lawyer also stated that Berisha is comfortable with the "compulsory appearance" security measure, given his age, so his strategy is to delay the process.
"It is Mr. Berisha's procedural right to appear or not, as long as he has appointed a lawyer. It was something to be expected, we should expect from Mr. Berisha a delay in the judicial process. He can run, but he cannot hide from justice. Do we have a conflict between the rapporteur, will the request for resignation be approved? I believe that it will be taken into consideration by Mr. Bani. If it is accepted, the matter will be put to the vote again. It will definitely take a long time, in completely normal conditions and not normal for Mr. Berisha, who has chosen a strategy to delay it as much as possible.
Mr. Berisha, being under the "compulsory appearance" security measure, is in no hurry to have a quick trial. The situation for Mr. Malltezi's defense is completely different.
