"The judicial system is in collapse", Zhulali: Insecurity in our

The Democratic Party member of the Tirana Municipal Council, Ilda Zhulali, has reacted sharply regarding the crisis in the Albanian judicial system.

She highlighted the alarming situation of the lack of judges and the growing insecurity. Zhulali stated that in this climate of insecurity and devaluation of human life, it is not surprising that the country is experiencing serious and repeated criminal events.

"I invite all citizens to read the minister's statement...to read it knowing one fact, that out of the 5 appeal courts that the Republic of Albania has had, today there is only one. So, it is about providing judges in only one building. There is only one in the entire republic and it is located in Tirana. There is no large police force that is required here in every corner of Albania. The number of judges has gone from 74, there are 24 judges.

Now think about it, these judges have to deal with an influx of cases, because the number of cases in the court has increased. This means that citizens are denied the right of citizens to have access, to then go to quality. To then think about how many files a judge has to go through to take the case again from the beginning. Here it is done as if 'you are going to eat popcorn'.

"In every case, you have the life of at least one family in your hands, and because the devaluation of life has begun here in such a way, that's why such events happen, uncertainty has reached a crescendo. This country has gone to hell and every day there is a murder announced ," Zhulali told "Syri TV".
