The Fier Prosecutor's Office has seized the assets of the Albanian couple Arjan and Lutmira Xhafaj, arrested with over 580 kg of narcotics, cocaine in Greece.
A plot of land, a building and a "Golf" type car have been seized from the couple.
The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Fier has mainly registered criminal proceedings no. 1523, dated 02.11.2023, for the criminal offense of "Cleaning the products of a criminal offense or criminal activity", provided for by Article 287 of the Criminal Code.
This criminal proceeding has been started on the basis of the information published in the media and the verifications carried out, according to which information is announced that the citizens A. Xh. and L. Xh., residing in Fier, have been arrested in Greece for the seizure of 585 kg and 208 grams of the narcotic substance "cocaine" and are suspected of having laundered the proceeds of this criminal activity in our country.
From the investigative actions carried out dynamically in cooperation with the judicial police officers of the services of the Fier Local Police Directorate, the exchange of information with other law-enforcement bodies, as well as the analysis and cross-checking of administered data, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance Fier has asked the Court for the seizure of assets suspected of deriving from the criminal activity of citizens AX and L.Xh, as follows:
Real estate no. 24/198, vol. 30, p. 230, "plot" type with an area of 300 m2 and a building area of 110.70 m2, located in Vlora;
Monetary amount 40,000 Euros; and "Volswagen" brand vehicle, "Golf" model, year of manufacture 2010.
The Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Fier accepted the request of the Prosecution and following this, the judicial police officers of the services of the Local Police Directorate of Fier and the Agency were charged for the Administration of Seized Assets for the execution of court decisions.
Investigations into this criminal case continue. The Fier Prosecutor's Office is fully engaged and has prioritized the fight against the laundering of proceeds of crime and criminal activity.
