The census of the population and housing in the whole country ends today. The census started on September 18 of this year and was supposed to end on October 30, but was postponed by INSTAT because not all cities in the country had been counted.
During these weeks, citizens were asked about family, work, education, as well as about religion, language and ethnicity.
More than 5,200 surveyors have been engaged to conduct the census of the population and housing in the field, while the final results of this census will be published next year.
According to the law "On the Census of Population and Housing", all citizens over the age of 18 are obliged to answer the questions of the census.
This is the 12th census taking place in the country since 1923, the cost will be 16.5 million euros, and it is also important for economic development. The last census was conducted in 2011, which showed that the resident population was 2,821,977, with a decrease of 8%, from the 2001 Census.
