The premature and sudden death of the former PD deputy, Gerti Bogdani shocked politics and public opinion on Wednesday.
Bogdani died after a heart attack, while he was having a coffee with his friends in one of the capital's cafes.
Doctor Indrit Temali explained in the Barometer show on Euronews Albania that sudden cardiac death is an event that happens and is not chosen, even though little is said about it.
He indicated that sudden death has no preceding signs and can occur for a number of reasons.
" We as cardiologists are a little more used to such events, in medicine it is known as sudden death. It's a little-addressed topic. It is good that the community is informed of this event, which happens and does not choose. Death occurs within an hour in an apparently healthy person without disease. Sudden death has no signs that precede it, everything happens within an hour. The causes are various, arrhythmias account for 70-80 of sudden deaths, it can occur from causes of the aorta, blockage of the lung arteries, from heart attacks, from damage to the heart muscle, from heart valves, even from pathology of the channels ions that are much thinner and are genetically determined. There are a number of causes for sudden cardiac death ," explained the doctor.
