Decision of the Special Appeal, Safet Gjici falls ill on the day of the trial

This Monday, the Court of Special Appeal will announce the decision for the former mayor of the municipality of Kukes, Safet Gjicin.

The session, which will be held at 14:00, will not be attended by the former president because he is in a private hospital in Tirana.

It is not yet known what complications there were, but according to sources, it is believed that his surgery was done in the last few days.

The prosecution does not waive his sentence of 4.6 years in prison for passive corruption, which he requested in the appeal.

Meanwhile, the first instance sentenced him to 2 years in prison for abuse of office.

While the other co-defendant in the process, Alma Kaçi, was sentenced to 1 year in prison.
