The author of the murder of Arben Lleshi on Friday afternoon in Peqin prison, Sokol Mjaçaj, has refused to cooperate with the investigators, despite the fact that the latter have offered him the status of an accomplice, in order to fully clarify the incident.
Based on this refusal, the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan has added even more suspicions that Mjaçaj may have been ordered to commit the murder, although this track has been categorically denied by him.
In the testimony given to the investigators, Mjacaj stated that he committed the murder after a banal fight with Arben Lleshi and after learning from other prisoners that he will be isolated in the cells of 41-bis, he went to kill him in the cell where he was staying.
Based on these suspicions, the police searched his brother's apartment with the aim of seizing any valuable material for the investigation, but the searches were unsuccessful.
On the other hand, verifications are being carried out for the machine gun type weapon with which the life convict committed the serious crime, inside the high security prison.
Until now, from the conducted investigations, the suspicions are that the firearm with which Arben Lleshi was killed and Indrit Shaqja was injured may have entered a few days before the serious event.
However, to prove this suspicion, the investigators continue with the verification of the cameras in the interior of the prison.
So, it is learned that part of the investigation for this case is the finding of a phone in the cell of the life convict, Sokol Mjacaj, in June of this year.
Given that it is being verified whether or not it is related to the serious incident, for which 13 officials of the Peqin prison ended up in handcuffs. They are accused of abuse of office. It is also worth noting that the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan has requested the measure of arrest and imprisonment for all 13 officials of the Peqin prison.
