The situation from the fires in the area of Mirdita continues to remain problematic in the villages of the administrative units of Fan, Lajthizë and Orosh.
The mayor of Mirdita, Albert Melyshi, has called on the authorities to intervene from the air to extinguish the flames.
The fire that started three weeks ago in the territory of Kukës has spent 4 days in the mountains of Fan and Oroshi.
The danger to the village of Shëngjin has passed, but the situation remains critical for the villages of Petoç NJA Fan and Lajthizë NJA Orosh.
The situation continues to be monitored and the flames are fought 24 hours a day by the fire and forest service, as well as the residents of the area, whom we thank.
Also, since yesterday, the intervention of the Municipality has been joined by the firefighting forces of the army and the National Agency of Civil Protection.
Air intervention is requested immediately. We call on the residents of the villages of Fan and Orosh to come to our aid.'- writes Melyshi.
