
The Ministry of Defense has published updated data on the fire situation in the country over the last 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours, 52 fires have been identified, of which 2 are still active, 4 are under monitoring and 46 have been extinguished.
Outbreaks remain active in these areas:
– In the western area of the Skërfica tunnel, Gjirokastër municipality, where the intervention does not allow the entry of troops, due to the steep terrain and very dense vegetation. Today, the fire is being monitored by the Municipality's MZSH.
Spatharë, Skrapar municipality, where a fire has broken out in a pasture area. Forces from all operational structures are at the scene, working to bring the fire under control.
The outbreaks in the following areas are under monitoring, with the aim of avoiding reactivation:
– In the Prespa National Park, Lajthizë village, Pustec municipality
– In the Dishnicë village, Korçë municipality
– In the Strelcë village, Maliq municipality
– In the Veliq village, Tropojë municipality.
The following were involved in the firefighting operations:
– 52 firefighting vehicles
– 722 operational forces.
– Also, 2 helicopters from the Armed Forces participated in yesterday's operations, operating in two areas.
According to information sent by the Institute of Geosciences, light to locally moderate rainfall is expected today in the Shkodër, Kukës, Lezhë and Durrës regions, and light in most regions of the country.
Regarding forest fires, a "high" risk level is expected today in the regions of Elbasan, Fier, Berat and Korçë, while a "moderate" risk level is expected in the other regions.
Authorities call on citizens to exercise maximum caution, avoid any action that could cause a fire, and immediately report any suspicious fires to the relevant structures.
