EU High Representative Josep Borrell said climate change is an undeniable reality and a threat to global security, noting that the EU remains committed to supporting those affected, from fire-stricken areas in Greece to hurricane victims.
“This summer, natural disasters are wreaking havoc around the world, putting lives at risk and destroying homes and livelihoods. Across the Mediterranean, fires are wreaking havoc. Slovenia and Georgia have been severely affected by floods and landslides. Climate change is an undeniable reality and a threat to global security. The EU remains committed to supporting those affected, from fire-ravaged areas in Greece to typhoon victims in the Philippines," he wrote on Twitter.
