Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that it is pointless to talk to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he does not act independently.
In an interview with the Radio Television of Portugal media group, Lavrov said that he is guided by others regarding the course he is following.
" Everyone knows that Zelensky is by no means an independent figure. He is told what to do, what policy to follow. Of course, he is improvising as he follows this course, depending on the situation on this particular day. But it's pointless to talk to him ," he said.
He drew attention to the meeting started from Kiev in Copenhagen, attended by Western diplomats who, according to him, had the intention of capitulating Russia.
" Now, the West has matured a group of countries, which met in Copenhagen these days. The whole group of seven. Plus, they invited the BRICS countries, of course, without the representatives of Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Ukraine. China got a invitation but refused to attend the event, thinking that she is doomed to failure and would be absolutely confrontational since her stated goal was to ensure the approval of Zelensky's peace formula. This "formula" requires capitulation and punishment of Russia, as well as reparations from us. And peace talks and peace agreements can supposedly be possible only after that ," Lavrov said, adding that everyone knows this formula.
